Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills

Outdoor skills are critical to the success of the Scouting program. Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) provides leaders with the basic outdoor skills information needed to start a program right.

This outdoor training is required for all Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters. However, Troop Committee members will also gain an understanding of the outdoor program and how to best support the Scoutmaster in delivering a quality outdoor program to the scouts.

To receive credit you are required to attend the entire course (no partial credit is provided)

You will become a member of a patrol in a adult training troop. As a member of a patrol, you will learn how to train scouts in patrol operations including patrol outdoor activities. You will learn how the advancement program works from Scout through Eagle Scout rank and how to organize the Troop patrols to provide an effective program for the youth in your troop.

Pricing

The cost of registration covers all meals and materials.

Regular Rate: $40

Late Rate: $45 (a week prior to event)

*There is a 3.5% convenience charge for online credit card payments.

 

Refund Policy

Refund policy for Northeast Georgia Council, BSA: Payments for Scouting events are non-refundable. Event fees can be credited towards another NEGA Council events taking place during the same calendar year as the original event.

  • Proof of YPT (certificate from my.scouting.org)
  • Proof of Hazardous Weather Training (certificate from myscouting.org or in-person can be accepted, but you must bring proof)
