Exploring/Venturing Adult Award Nominations

Do you know someone who has gone above and beyond to serve the youth in the E/V District?

Then nominate them for one of the following awards being presented at the Apalachee and Exploring/Venturing Districts Adult Volunteer Recognition Banquet on January 16, 2021.

Leadership for Life Leadership Award (Exploring)

The Learning for Life Leadership Award is a distinguished award for Explorers, high school Learning for Life program participants, and adult volunteer leaders who have given exceptional leadership in Exploring or Learning for Life programs.

Fretwell 

Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award is presented to those who work in education and who follow the BSA’s mission “to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.” Recipients do not have to be teachers or have previous Scouting connections. They can work in public, private, or religious schools, and at any level from elementary education to higher education.

Spurgeon (Exploring)

This award is presented to adult (over 21) Exploring leaders, businesses, and organizations at both the local and national level for service in support of the Exploring program. It may be awarded to a currently-registered Exploring volunteer with a reasonable amount of service time or a business, professional, or community leader whose activities have supported Exploring.

District Award of Merit (Exploring or Venturing)

Recipients must be registered Scouters, and have given “noteworthy service to youth,” either inside or outside of Scouting—or both. Nominees should have gone beyond the duties of their volunteer position, and maintain a positive attitude and work in cooperation with the district and council. Online Nomination Form or PDF Nomination Form
 
We are also looking for nominations for our Legacy award (Exploring or Venturing) first given to Anna Hall and then Tom Roberts for their outstanding, and long-standing dedication specifically to the Venturing program on district and council levels.
We will be giving out certificates to those who led our various District/Council events for Exploring or Venturing (or both) in addition to these nominated awards.
