Duty to God Weekend

The Duty to God Weekend is open to all youth from Kindergarten through 12th grade and adults. All are welcome (siblings, youth groups, etc.) as a student does not need to be a Scout to participate.

This year, we will offer the RP3 programs (Protestant) and NCCS Religious Activity programs (Catholic). These programs can be used to meet some/all Adventure Loop requirements (Cub Scouts) and Duty to God requirements (Scouts BSA). Participants will receive a patch upon completion! Adults can also participate and earn the patch. For more info, go to:

*we have been given permission to use a modified version of the RP3 program for the weekend to ensure completion over the weekend.

 

Friday Night:

  • Check-in starts at 6:00 PM
  • Orientation at 8:00 PM
  • No meals are served

Saturday:

  • Classes from  9:00 AM to 4:45PM
  • Campfire at sundown
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner served

Sunday:

  • Classes from 8:00 to 9:45AM
  • Church service (led by the God & Church class) with graduation immediately after starting at 10:00 AM
  • Campsite gates close at noon
  • Breakfast served

† A student can earn the RP3 awards or NCCS Religious Activity awards once the primary award (in bold) for his/her age group has been earned.

*Students in these denoted classes will complete many, but not all, of the requirements for the award (ex. 30 days of Bible reading).

**The Catholic Pope Pius XII (High School) award needs to be done in the Scouts home diocese and cannot be started during this weekend. Students can still participate in the NCSS Religious Activity.

All Cub Scouts (K-5th) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Scouts BSA (6th-12th) must have an adult onsite who is responsible for them. No exceptions.

CUB SCOUT REGISTRATION FEES

A Parent/Guardian/Mentor is required to attend the class with each Cub Scout.

 

SCOUTS BSA/VENTURER REGISTRATION FEES

To be announced ...

 

Participating Adult - $0 (one adult can come with a Cubscout or Scouts BSA for no charge)

Additional participating youth family members - $TBA

Additional adult family members - $TBA

 

Registration includes Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Sunday breakfast, course workbook, patch, and materials

 

WHAT TO BRING

Bible, uniform, sleeping bag, extra clothes and shoes, toilet gear, any personal gear, sun screen, camera, flashlight. 

Some Adirondacks are available and ready – but you should bring your own tent.
