Dawson Jamboree on the Trail
On the second Saturday each May since 1998, all those in the World Scout Movement have been invited to hike together. All Scouts, whatever their age and wherever they may be in the world, are invited to participate in whatever way they can.
In their own way, everyone will be hiking the same direction: towards a better future through Scouting. JOTT is held on the second Saturday of May each year.
There is no cost to participate in this international event, but commemorative 2022 JOTT patches are available for a small donation. Proceeds of the patch sale support the work of the Northeast Georgia Council International Committee. Contact Northeast Georgia Council International Representative Phil Krajec, email@example.com to arrange payment or order online through the council's JOTT webpage at https://www.nega-bsa.org/JOTT22.
This year we have a county-sponsored trail building activity. Gather at the Etowah River Park between Rock Creek Park and Dawson County Middle School. Bring tools to help build a new trail pre-marked by the county. The county is providing materials, but not tools.
Tools to bring:
- Leaf rakes
- Leaf blower
