It is a Scout leaders' learning extravaganza, an annual gathering where knowledge, skills and enthusiasm are shared! University of Scouting does not take the place of basic training, but is a supplemental offering. University of Scouting is fun for all leaders, from the newest to the most veteran.

What to see at the University of Scouting?

  • JUST FOR YOU.   We mixed up the curriculum this year and have added many new courses.  Select five (5) hours of training that best suits your needs from over 70 classes.  This year we are offering seven (7) never offered before new courses. Our trained instructors are waiting to share with you exciting and new information which you can take back to your units.  Classes begin promptly at 9:30 am with registration opening at 7:30 am.  You will not want to miss our special opening ceremony starting at 9 am.
  • WHAT'S THAT NOISE?   To get the best of our programming and for the comfort of others, don't forget to purchase a lunch --- or if you wish bring your own lunch.   We do not want any growling noises from the peanut gallery.
  • EXPERIENCE THE SCOUTING SHOWCASE.  Discover ideas and opportunities for Scout meetings and outings from other Units.  Learn about council activities to support your program.  Be sure to check out the Scouting Showcase.
  • NETWORKING - YOUR KEY TO SUCCESS.   One of the keys to being a successful Scouter is finding other Scouters smarter than yourself, latching on and learn from their years of experience.  You will have plenty of opportunity to do this.  We are expecting over 500 participants at this event.
  • CHECK OUT THE BARGAINS.   Be sure to visit the Scout store and purchase your pinewood derby cars at a big discount.
  • ONE LAST NOTE.   This is an ADULT event;  there are NO facilities for childcare.
  • ON SITE SCOUT SHOP. The University of Scouting Trading Post will be open 8AM until 3:30PM, while stage events are not in progress. There will be Special University of Scouting only pricing on selected Scout merchandise.  A great way to do some Christmas shopping. Special Offer on Pinewood Derby Cars - Buy your Pinewood Derby cars by the case. Special price of $132 + tax (each case contains 48 car kits). This is a savings of almost $60 compared to buying kits individually. Individual car kits will be available at the Scout Shop price of $3.99 each + tax. Bring a unit or personal check to take advantage of this offer! VISA, Master Card and Discover are also accepted.
  • ONLINE REGISTRATION will be available 7:30 am at the University of Scouting.
